Fabiflu Tablet

Fabiflu Tablet may cause side effects like diarrhoea, decrease in white blood cell count (especially neutrophils), increase in blood uric acid levels, and elevated liver enzyme levels. Consult your doctor if your diarrhoea worsens or if you are concerned about the side effects.

Do not discontinue this medicine without consulting your doctor. Seek immediate medical attention if you see signs of allergic reactions like hives, skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc.

Fabiflu Tablet may be taken with or without food, but taking it with or after a meal may help prevent side effects like nausea and vomiting. Take Fabiflu Tablet at the same time every day for better results and compliance (so you do not forget).

Fabiflu Tablet is not recommended for use if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding due to the lack of safety and efficacy data. Inform your doctor if you have gout (a condition that causes severe pain, redness, and tenderness in the joints) or any liver, kidney, or heart problems before starting treatment with this medicine. General warnings

Hyperuricaemia

Fabiflu 400 Tablet may increase the uric acid levels in the blood and hence should be use with extreme caution if you have hyperuricaemia (increased uric acid levels in the blood), gout, or a history of gout. Report any unusual symptoms such as pain, swelling, or stiffness in joints, difficulty in movement, etc. to your doctor immediately. Your doctor may recommend close monitoring of the blood uric acid levels, appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative based on your clinical condition.

Kidney impairment

Fabiflu Tablet is not recommend for use if you have or had kidney problems as Favipiravir can cause kidney damage in some people. Inform your doctor of any kidney issues you may have before starting treatment with Fabiflu Tablet.

Liver impairment

Fabiflu 400 Tablet is not recommend for use if you have or had liver problems. Favipiravir is process in the liver which can lead to its accumulation in the body and decreased elimination in people with liver impairment. This can lead to the worsening of side effects caused by Favipiravir. Inform your doctor of any liver issues you may have before starting treatment with Tablet.

Use of contraception

Tablet is distribute in sperm. Your doctor may recommend the use of effective contraception like condoms during sexual intercourse to prevent the transfer of the medicine during and after seven days of treatment with Favipiravir.

Use in women of childbearing age

Tablet may be unsafe for use in pregnant women. Hence, your doctor may recommend taking a pregnancy test before starting treatment with Tablet.
